Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has introduced an online two-wheeler booking portal. The platform allows you to select the model, variant, colour scheme and dealership from where you want to purchase your two-wheeler.
The process is quite straightforward. Once you’ve made your decision, your credentials and PAN number are verified by email and your phone number, following which a booking can be made for Rs 1,999. Honda also tells us that this booking amount is fully refundable in case of a cancellation.
Honda’s portfolio in India currently includes six motorcycles – the CD 110 Dream, Livo, Shine, SP125, Unicorn, X-Blade – and four scooters, the Activa 6G, Activa 125, Dio and Grazia. In June 2020, Honda sold 2,02,837 units of these two-wheelers domestically. This figure is nowhere near as high as the 4,50,888 units it sold in June 2019, but it is nearly four times as much as the 54,820 two-wheelers sold in May.
Dealerships across the country have resumed operations, but a sharp decline in walk-ins is expected. An online portal allows customers to book a two-wheeler without the risk of contracting the virus. In fact, Honda isn’t the first manufacturer to introduce an online portal in light of the current scenario. Over the last couple months, Hero and Suzuki have begun accepting bookings online and will also deliver the new motorcycle to your home, completely eliminating the need for a customer to visit a dealership.
