Last year at EICMA, Honda had a diverse lineup on offer and this year too, Big Red continues that trend. The Japanese giant has shown a range of electric scooter and bike concepts at the show, with one e-scooter slated to go into production soon.

  1. CUV e: is second EV to join Honda’s lineup
  2. CUV e: powered by two removable batteries
  3. EV Fun concept previews sporty naked with ‘middleweight’ performance

Honda CUV e: electric scooter

The CUV e: electric scooter is the second EV to join Honda’s lineup after the EM 1e: shown last year. Powering the CUV e: are two removable battery packs and Honda claims it has a range of ‘over 70km’ on a single charge. The concept that previews this model was also shown at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show.

Honda offers a choice of two displays with the CUV e: either a 5-inch one or a 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. The CUV e: has 3 riding modes (standard, sport and eco) along with a reverse function.

Honda EV Fun concept

The EV FUN concept is Honda’s attempt at a sporty electric naked bike. The company claims "it offers performance equivalent to a mid-sized internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle and is scheduled for commercialisation in 2025". While the EV Fun concept is still very much in the concept stage, the presence of finalised brakes and suspension does hint that it is in an advanced stage of development.

The design of the EV Fun concept is typical of a sporty naked, and the single-sided swingarm is a cool touch. One thing that will stand out for Indian audiences is the headlight of the EV Fun concept, which is very similar to the Ola Roadster electric bike lineup.

The EV FUN concept’s battery is compatible with a CCS2 quick charger (the same one seen on cars), which should open up more charging options. It will also provide a cruising range of over 100km, claims Honda.

Honda EV Urban concept

The EV Urban concept, unlike the EV Fun concept, is still quite some time away and there are no details about the powertrain or underpinnings. The overall silhouette is similar to something like a BMW CE 04, which is a premium electric scooter, so we could see something along those lines from Honda.
