Owing to the current severe situation on account of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and multiple lockdowns across the country, Honda has announced a temporary halt of its production operations. Production will be suspended from May 1 to May 15, 2021. Honda has said that it will utilise this halt to conduct annual plant maintenance activities. The Japanese manufacturer added that it would be reviewing its production plan depending on the evolving situation with the pandemic and market recovery. It has said that its office associates will continue to work from home to maintain business continuity, while extending all possible support to customers and business partners.

Honda was one of the few two-wheeler companies in India to post a positive sales growth in March 2021, with 3,95,037 units sold, up 61 percent year-on-year (March 2020 sales: 2,45,716 units).
