Back in August 2019, we were the first ones to tell you that KTM showrooms were set to undergo a makeover to sell the Husqvarna models. We now have information on the timelines of when the change is set to happen, how the dealerships are set to be laid out, and more.

A total of 125 KTM dealerships will be converted to KTM-Husqvarna showrooms by February 2020. This is also when the Husqvarnas will first go on sale. From March 2020 onwards, the remaining showrooms are set to be upgraded to the dual-branded setup in a phased manner. This is expected to go on till July 1, 2020, by which time the company is targeting at having 379 Husqvarna-KTM showrooms ready.

KTM dealers will only be allowed to sell the Husqvarna models once they upgrade their showrooms. The upgrade includes changes to the front fascia, reception desk and walls, where the KTM and Husqvarna logos will be placed side by side. There will be no major modifications to the existing KTM service centres, aside from the addition of Husqvarna branding.

The first two models to go on sale from Husqvarna in India will be the Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250. The Vitpilen is the café-racer-styled version, while the Svartpilen is the scrambler, and just like the larger iterations of the bikes, these two are also based on their KTM counterparts. And so, the two Husqvarnas share mechanical components with the KTM 250 Duke and are powered by the same 248.8cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bikes make 31hp and 24Nm of torque, and weighs 153kg (dry).
