Indian Motorcycle has issued a recall for the Scout range of motorcycles. The affected bikes include the Indian Scout Sixty, Scout and the Scout Bobber. According to the American motorcycle brand, the bikes have been recalled owing to an issue related to the anti-locking brakes system (ABS). Indian has found that some ABS units had air left in the system during assembly and this can affect the braking performance. In total, 4,185 units of the Indian Scout range have been affected by this recall.
Indian has started notifying the affected owners to fix their motorcycles. The dealers will bleed the front and rear brakes to remove the air pocket, free of cost.
No official recall has been issued for the Scout Range in India yet, and we are waiting for a quote from the company. However, since the Indian Scout range is brought to India as CBU, there is a possibility that some units in our country might be affected. We’ll update this as we find out.
