Kawasaki KLX 150BF: engine and features
What makes the KLX 150BF particularly interesting is the fact that though it is a proper off-road bike, it is completely road legal. Meaning, it gets a headlight, tail-light, mirrors, turn indicators and a number plate holder at both ends.
The KLX 150BF is powered by a 144cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 11.52hp and 11.3Nm and is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
As for the design, it looks every bit as an off-road bike, evident in the small headlight cowl, high-mount front fender, slim, 7-litre fuel tank, seat and a minimal tail. Under the bodywork is a slim, perimeter frame, suspended by a USD fork and a monoshock. The bike rides on wire-spoke wheels (21-inch front/ 18-inch rear) shod with knobby tyres. What should also make it easier to handle off-road abilities is its 118kg kerb weight.
If launched, the Kawasaki KLX 150BF should serve as a stepping stone for beginners who want to get into the world of riding a motorcycle off-road.
