India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) has only recently launched four new models – the Ninja ZX-10R and the Ninja ZX-14R, followed by the Z1000 and Ninja 1000, and will soon follow these up with the Z800 in January 2014. But the new model onslaught does not stop there, as Kawasaki is also looking to showcase the Versys 1000 from its adventure series, followed by the ER-6n, which is a naked version of the Ninja 650 on sale today in the Indian market.

Being an adventure series motorcycle, the Kawasaki Versys 1000 has been designed for hassle-free performance irrespective of road condition. It is a litre-class motorcycle with four-stroke, in-line-four, 1,043cc, liquid-cooled, 16-valve engine, that generates a maximum power output of 118bhp at 9,000rpm, while peak torque stands at 10.4kgm at 7,700rpm, driving the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. The Versys 1000 gets an aluminium twin-tube frame with 43mm inverted forks up front, while a horizontal back-link suspension does its job at the rear.

Meanwhile, the Kawasaki ER-6n is a street-naked, and has been designed more for city riding in comparison to the Ninja 650, which is a sports tourer. The ER-6n uses a four-stroke, parallel-twin, 649cc, liquid-cooled, eight-valve engine, generating 72bhp at 8,500rpm with 6.5kgm of torque coming in at 7,000rpm, all of which is transferred via a drive chain and a six-speed gearbox.

The ER-6n is set upon a perimeter high-tensile steel frame, with 41mm telescopic forks in the front, and an offset single-shock rear suspension with adjustable preload. The Versys 1000 is speculated to be showcased at Kawasaki showrooms in Pune between January 2014 and June 2014. The ER-6n, meanwhile, will arrive around July 2014.
