Kawasaki’s middleweight retro, the Z650RS has been updated for the 2024 model year with a traction control system. Other than that addition, the bike remains mechanically unchanged.
- 649cc parallel-twin engine makes 68hp, 64Nm
- Uses same main frame, cycle parts as Z650, Ninja 650
- Twin-pod digi-analogue instrumentation like larger Z900RS
The Z650RS’ design takes cues from the larger inline-four Z900RS and in proper neo-retro fashion, has a cleaner, simpler silhouette than the edgy Z650. The round headlight (a modern LED unit), single-piece seat, digi-analogue dials and the quasi-spoke alloy wheels are all wrapped around a fairly sporty engine and chassis package in the Z650RS. With the addition of the 3-level KTRC system, newer and returning riders will find the 68hp and 64Nm output figures easier to manage.
In Europe, the Z650RS has also received a new Candy Medium Red colour option, which looks particularly eye-catching and we hope that when Kawasaki launches the updated model, this colourway is offered here.
Currently, the Z650RS is priced at Rs 6.92 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and when the 2024 model gets here sometime next year, we expect the price to go up. We’ve ridden the current Z650RS and to read our review, tap here.
