KTM has announced that it is extending the free services and warranty periods for all its products. The decision has been made in light of the 21-day countrywide lockdown as customers may struggle to get their vehicles serviced on time, or avail warranty benefits that may expire during the period.

The warranty and free services that were set to expire in March, April and May can now be availed until June 30, 2020.

KTM joins the likes of Yamaha, TVS, Honda and Bajaj in extending warranty and free service deadlines.

In other news, Pierer Mobility – parent company of KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas – announced last month, the implementation of a two-week company vacation at its Mattighofen plant in Austria from March 30 to April 10. This is probably the result of an interruption of components supply due to the complete shutdown in northern Italy. Sources inform us that India may be affected, as some components for KTM and new Husqvarna models do come from that region. As things stand, there is some stock ready in India, but if the shutdown continues unabated, we may see supply issues for some 390 and 250 models.
