Honda has taken the wraps off a limited-edition CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP commemorating John McGuinness’ 100th Isle Of Man TT start as well as 30 years of the legendary superbike. This special edition is limited to just 30 units, each priced at GBP 30,000 (approximately Rs 29 lakh).

Limited-edition Honda Fireblade: details
This special edition of the Honda Fireblade is based on the SP variant but wears a full replica respray, incorporating Gold detailing and film strip (showing all of John’s TT starts on a Honda and 100th start sponsor logos) and gold wheel stripes. Further, McGuiness’ signature will adorn the airbox cover on the tank and each bike will have a numbered plaque on the top yoke, confirming authenticity. The bike will also feature 30th anniversary 3D laser-engraved logos on the key fob as well as an Akrapovic exhaust.
Some of the well-heeled customers might even get an opportunity to receive their bike from John McGuinness himself while taking delivery from Honda Racing UK HQ. While the mechanicals remain unchanged, a few cycle parts have been changed. For starters, there are carbon fibre front and rear huggers, complimented by a taller screen and Metzeler Racetec RR tyres. Alongside these sticky tyres, the stock tyres will be provided to the buyer as well.
John McGuinness: a brief introduction
John McGuinness is the second most successful TT racer of all time, next to the late, great Joey Dunlop. McGuinness has achieved wins at all the International road racing events, but it’s his mastery of the infamous 37.73-mile (60.37km) public roads course on the Isle of Man that’s largely defined his career and cemented his legendary status as one of the true giants of pure road racing.
Making his TT debut in 1996, he won the best newcomer title in the 250cc class. Three years later, he took his first win, the 250cc Lightweight TT. Over the ensuing two decades (1999-2019) he’s accumulated an incredible 47 podiums of which 23 were TT wins. His experience and course knowledge are second to none and he was also the first man to break through the 130mph barrier, which he achieved in a memorable 2007 season, on an HM Plant-sponsored Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade.
