We recently reported that Harley-Davidson has made a separate LiveWire sub-brand dedicated to electric bikes. The first bike to emerge from this is the LiveWire One.
Essentially the same bike as the Harley-Davidson LiveWire from 2019
Gets a big price drop
Available outside of the USA next year onwards
The LiveWire one is available in two colour schemes - black and white - and it no longer carries the Harley Davidson logo. Besides that, the bike is instantly recognisable as the Harley-Davidson LiveWire which went on sale in 2019 and there are no cosmetic changes to speak of.
Underneath the skin, the bike retains the same specifications, with 105hp and 116Nm from its liquid cooled electric motor. The bike offers multiple riding modes that can transform it from a docile city commuter to a breathtakingly quick machine that accelerates from 0-100kph in sportbike rivalling time. The bigger news with the LiveWire One is that it comes with a significant price drop. The old model was priced at 29,799USD, but that price has now been reduced to 21,999USD. While the bike used to be priced on par with top Harley Davidson models like the Ultra Limited, it’s now on par with the entry level Street Glide.
The LiveWire One will be sold out of the USA from 2022 onwards and it is unlikely that this bike will come to India anytime soon. If Harley India, which is now under Hero MotoCorp, does intend to import a few units, expect the bike to be priced well above the Rs 25 lakh mark.
