The Moto Guzzi V85 TT is on sale in India at Rs 12.64 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The V85 TT is the famed Italian company’s take at an adventure motorcycle. The Moto Guzzi V85 Tutto Terreno (all-terrain) features prominent ADV bike features like a large fuel tank, an adjustable windscreen and large-diameter spoked wheels equipped with tyres suited for dual-sport riding.
Despite its retro appearance, the ADV does pack a decent level of electronics. The V85 features traction control and ABS; both change intensity depending on the riding mode (Off-Road, Rain or Road) in use. The bike also has a full-colour TFT screen that displays all of the regular information, rider modes and cruise control settings. It's even set up for Bluetooth multimedia.
Powering the motorcycle is an 853cc, air-cooled, transverse V-twin tuned to make 80hp, sending power to the rear wheel via a shaft, rather than a chain. The V85 TT also uses a new steel-tube frame. The kerb weight for the adventure-oriented motorcycle stands at 229kg.
When it comes to the suspension, Moto Guzzi’s adventure bike uses a USD fork and an off-set monoshock, both featuring preload adjustability. The bike rides on a 19-inch wheel up front and a 17-inch at the rear. However, these spoked wheels require a tube and cannot accommodate tubeless tyres. ADV-bike enthusiasts will also appreciate the large 23-litre fuel tank.
In terms of competition, the V85 Tutto Terreno goes up against the upcoming Tiger 900 and the BMW F 850 GS.
It should be noted that the Moto Guzzi V85 TT on sale in India currently does not comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms, so it will be on sale only until April 1, 2020.
