Aprilia will launch the SR125 scooter in the next few weeks. The SR125, first spied in May 2017, aims to bank on the SR 150’s aggressive design and enthusiastic handling while being relatively easier on the wallet to own and run.
The scooter has arrived at select dealerships and with an indicative price tag of Rs 65,309 (ex-showroom; yet to be confirmed by Aprilia), it’s marginally cheaper than its 150cc sibling, which retails at Rs 69,146. Apart from two new colours – silver and blue – the SR125 is visually identical to the 150. While Aprilia hasn’t divulged details on the SR125, it has been under development for a while and we expect to see the same 125cc engine (as on the Vespa VXL) that produces 10.06hp at 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.
Meanwhile, a new, matte green version of the 150 has trickled into showrooms and it’s awaiting an official launch as well although we don’t expect it to be priced at a premium.
The Aprilia duo are a part of Piaggio’s 2018 Auto Expo contingent but will certainly be accompanied by other, newer models as the company makes its biggest, most extravagant appearance at the show yet.
