Norton has launched India-exclusive, limited-edition versions of the Commando and Dominator. The Commando 961 Sport has been priced at Rs 20.99 lakh and the Dominator has been priced at Rs 23.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India). There will be only a total of 37 bikes made (19 Commandos and 18 Dominators).

These limited-edition bikes feature hand-painted British flags on them, along with the customer’s name and a unique allocation number. Other than that, the bikes remain very similar to the standard variants. The Commando 961 Sport looks similar to the Commando 961 Café Racer that was launched in India back in April 2018. However, being the Sport model, it features a single-piece handlebar and not a clip-on like the one seen on the Café Racer.

It uses the same 961cc, parallel-twin motor with a two-valve head and push-rod actuation. Norton quotes 80hp at 6,500rpm and 90Nm of torque at 5,200rpm, but on the India-spec Café Racer, we had seen the power drop to 71.9hp at 7,500rpm and 67Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The Sport is well-equipped and features aluminium spoke rims shod with a 120/70 section tyre at the front and a 180/55 section tyre at the back. The Sport also rides on Ohlins-branded suspension front and rear. Braking, meanwhile, is taken care of by 320mm floating twin-disc brakes and four-piston calliper from Brembo at the front and a 220mm single-disc unit with a two-piston calliper at the rear.

The Dominator, on the other hand, is an aggressively styled café racer. It uses the same 961cc engine as the Commando and makes identical power and torque figures. Like the Commando, the Dominator also features Ohlins-branded suspension with the only difference being the rear monoshock – the Dominator uses a fully adjustable monoshock instead of the twin-shock absorbers seen on the Commando. The Dominator also uses the same braking equipment, tyres and spoked wheels.
