The Zongshen Cyclone RX6 adventure tourer, powered by the 650 Norton derived parallel-twin engine has been unveiled at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show. For the uninitiated, Zongshen is a Chinese company that inked a deal with Norton Motorcycles in 2017 to manufacture the company's 650cc twins.

  • Norton's parallel-twin engine was derived from its V4 motorcycle
  • 650cc engine in the Zongshen makes 70hp and 62Nm
  • Get keyless ignition and electronically adjustable windscreen

Zongshen Cyclone RX6: Engine

The Zongshen RX6's 650cc, DOHC, four valve parallel-twin produces 70hp and 62Nm of peak torque. While these figures are in the vicinity of the RX6's competition, such as the Kawasaki Versys 650, it is less than the 84hp that Norton's engine produced.

Zongshen Cyclone RX6: Design and chassis

The RX6 looks like a typical ADV, with its large front fairing, windscreen and beefy 21-litre fuel tank. The seats look flat and wide and there is provision for mounting luggage.

In terms of hardware, the bike is kitted out with KYB fork and offset monoshock and Nissin brakes with dual channel ABS.

The motorcycle is available in two trims. The sport touring variant rides on alloy wheels, shod with Pirelli tyres while the adventure touring version gets wire spoke wheels and longer travel suspension.

Zongshen Cyclone RX6: Features

The Cyclone RX6 features keyless ignition electronically adjustable windscreen and full-color TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity.
