As it continues its efforts to ramp up its homeland operations, Ola Electric is also making its presence felt worldwide. The company showcased its range of S1 electric scooters at EICMA 2022 in Milan, giving attendees a preview of what’s to come. Because Ola has also announced plans to begin exports to Europe by the first quarter of 2023.
The company has been scaling up production at its Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, and it claims to be producing 1,000 scooters per day at the moment. Its first international foray will be in the form of an expansion to Nepal, and the next step is going to be Europe. Ola says it is in talks with local partners to make this happen, and in the next phase of expansion, it will explore entry into Latin American and ASEAN countries.
“Ola is committed to creating the EV paradigm for the rest of the world and making India the global epicentre for EVs," Bhavish Aggarwal, founder and CEO, said. "EICMA is our very first showcase in Europe and we are extremely proud to present our S1 scooters for customers in this market. We are confident that with our world-class EV products, we will grow the EV scooter market in Europe exponentially the way we have in India.”
