As Ola Electric’s production capabilities continue to ramp up – the company registered just 238 scooters last December, but became the electric two-wheeler market leader in April – the next purchase window for its S1 Pro e-scooter is scheduled to open this weekend. As before, prospective buyers who have made a reservation earlier will get the chance to order it as soon as the purchase window opens, although Ola hasn’t indicated how long it will remain open this time around.
Ola opened its last purchase window between March 17 and 18 this year, and had announced then that it would be hiking prices next time around. So, expect the S1 Pro to be more expensive when the window opens this weekend. Current price for the S1 Pro stands at Rs 1,10,149 (ex-showroom Delhi, after FAME-II and state subsidies).
In other news, Ola’s OTA update introducing features like navigation and cruise control promised by the end of April, began its beta roll-out to customers in the first week of May. Once the update has been implemented, it will be interesting to see if, in addition to the new features, the company has also been able to rectify existing issues – like unintentional reversing – that have been plaguing its scooters.
