Ola Electric took to social media today to give us a glimpse of its upcoming electric scooters, the S1 and S1 Pro in production.
Test rides to begin from November 10
S1 priced at Rs 99,999, S1 Pro at Rs 1,29,999
The factory is expected to create 10,000 jobs
The news of the scooter being produced is in conjunction with Ola Electric’s plans to begin test rides from November 10. In response to a tweet, Ola Electric said, “Test rides start November 10 and most customers prefer a test ride before paying the balance amount. We've aligned the remainder payment with the start of test rides, so you can test ride at your convenience and then pay balance. Be sure, this will have no impact on delivery.”
Ola Electric has also said that it will deliver the scooter fully registered, but has not elaborated on how it plans to do so across the country. We expect more information regarding this, its production and test rides closer to November 10.
To recap, Ola claims, upon completion, its factory will create almost 10,000 jobs and will be the world’s largest scooter manufacturing facility, which will initially have an annual capacity of 2 million units. The company’s line-up, meanwhile, consists of two models – S1 and S1 Pro. The S1 is priced at Rs 99,999, while the higher-spec S1 Pro costs Rs 1,29,999 in states other than Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. The prices for the scooters are much lower in the four aforementioned states thanks to subsidies.
