Reise Moto, a sub-brand of Gujarat-based tyre company Mahansaria group, has joined hands with European brand Mitas to manufacture two-wheeler tyres in India. Reise, which means ‘trip’ in German, will manufacture tyres for both motorcycles and scooters, as per an announcement today.

At the said announcement, Reise showcased six different tyres – TrailR, TourR, TraceR, TroopR, TripR and TwistR. These tyres, as the names suggest, are built for specific purposes. The TrailR, for instance, is for motorcycles being ridden on a trail and the promo video shows a Royal Enfield Himalayan, shod with these tyres, being ridden on a trail. The TraceR, on the other hand, is a sporty tyre with emphasis on offering more grip on tarmac, while the TroopR is a tyre designed for commuter motorcycles. The Reise TripR and TwistR, meanwhile, are built for scooters.
While the company is yet to release tyre size availability under each tyre model, a look at the motorcycles suggests that these tyres should fit on a bunch of two-wheelers sold in India.
These tyres will be built at Reise’s sprawling factory in Bharuch, Gujarat and the company says that they will be sold in India as well as other parts of South Asia. In fact, the same facility will also manufacture Mitas’ tyres in India for export to overseas markets. At present, there is no word on Mitas tyres being sold in India.
Prices of the Reise tyre portfolio have not been announced yet and they are expected to do so in the near future. That said, Reise is offering a six-year warranty on all its tyres.
