Revolt Motor was scheduled to open pre-bookings on its website and Amazon India for its first electric motorcycle, the RV 400, on June 25. However, on the day, the option was made available only on its website. Now, a couple weeks later, Revolt has opened pre-bookings for the RV 400 on the popular e-commerce platform as well. A booking can be made for a fully refundable amount of Rs 1,000 (same as on the Revolt website).
Currently, bookings are open only for customers in Delhi and Pune. Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Bangalore will follow suit within the next four months. Deliveries that were earlier made on the website are set to begin in July 2019, based on the booking sequence. Meanwhile, Amazon quotes a delivery date of August 24 for a booking made right now. The Revolt RV 400 is available in two colours – Rebel Red and Cosmic Black.
At the launch of the Revolt RV 400, the company showcased some of its features, including all-LED lighting, a fully digital dash, 4G connectivity and more. Hardware includes a bolt-on sub-frame, a USD fork, a monoshock and disc brakes. Owners will also have access to the Revolt app that lets you track your bike, show real-time range based on your riding patterns, notify you on potential problems, and even let you alter the bike's artificial exhaust note.
The RV 400 shares its platform with the Chinese Super Soco TC Max but features redesigned body panels. It has a claimed top speed of 85kph and an ARAI-certified range of 156km. The company will also have ‘mobile swap stations’ which will allow for swapping one's drained battery for a fully charged one. These swap stations can be located via the phone application.
