  2. 648cc engine gets bespoke mapping, gearing
  3. Showa USD fork, LED headlight are RE firsts

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 pricing, India launch: details

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 will be offered in three colour groupings upon its launch on January 16 – Astral, Interstellar and Celestial. These variants will be mechanically identical, differing only in colour schemes and accessories on offer.

The Super Meteor 650 is powered by the tried-and-tested 648cc air-and-oil cooled parallel-twin engine but has undergone a couple of minor revisions such as a different airbox and exhaust system, bespoke mapping and slightly shorter final gearing. Peak output figures, at 47hp and 52Nm, stay the same, although the peak torque output arrives 500rpm later in the rev band. RE claims that 80 percent of the peak torque arrives at just 2,500rpm on the Super Meteor 650.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 heralds a number of firsts for the Chennai-based marque, such as a Showa USD fork and an LED headlight. Expect the Super Meteor 650 to cost roughly Rs 30,000 more than the Continental GT 650, which will make it the most expensive Royal Enfield on sale.
