A couple of years ago, Royal Enfield introduced the Continental GT Cup, which saw professional racers duke it out on board its 650cc cafe racer on track. We first sampled this series as a wildcard entry, and then competed in a full-blown media race last year. To help feed more riders into this championship, Royal Enfield is now introducing the Track School, to teach riders the basics of riding on track.
The first edition of the Royal Enfield Track School is set to be held on 9 and 10 Sept at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, followed by more schools on 15 October in Bengaluru, 5 November in Kolhapur, and 26 November in Ahmedabad.
Royal Enfield says it will offer three distinct packages as part of its Track School. The first is called the GT Experience, which is a simple one-day program designed for those new to track riding. Then there is the GT Track package which is a two-day course to help GT Experience graduates hone their skills. And finally, the GT Race program, which combines circuit training, physical training and “athlete mindset training” in one package. Prices range from Rs 9,999 for the GT Experience package to Rs 59,999 for the GT Race package.
All packages at the Track School will be held aboard modified Continental GT 650 motorcycles, and among the trainers will be the champion from the first edition of the Continental GT Cup, Anish Shetty.
