The upcoming Suzuki Burgman Street has been spotted in Delhi during an advertisment shoot. This signals the fact that Suzuki could launch the new 125cc scooter in our market, soon. According to our sources, the new Suzuki Burgman Street will be launched in India next month. It will be Suzuki's flagship scooter, positioned above the Access 125. The Burgman Street had made its public debut at the 2018 Auto Expo earlier this year.
The scooter did manage to attract lot of eyeballs thanks to its maxi-scooter styling, which is inspired from the larger displacement Burgman family sold in international markets. It features a unique front-end, thanks to the large apron and windscreen, and one can’t miss the LED headlight that has been neatly integrated into the body panel. The Burgman Street will also be the first Suzuki scooter in India to get an all-digital instrument console (sourced from the Gixxer). It is also equipped with a multi-function key slot, generous underseat storage, a 12V charging socket and an LED tail-lamp.
The Burgman Street is expected to share its motor with the Suzuki Access 125. The 124.3cc, air-cooled engine produces 8.6hp at 6,500rpm and 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. Cycle parts are also expected to remain identical to the Access 125 with the new scooter employing a telescopic fork and monoshock for suspension duties. Braking will be done by a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at rear, and CBS will come as standard fitment, a feature that Suzuki recently introduced on the Access 125.
In terms of pricing, the new Suzuki 125cc scooter is expected to cost Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 more than the Access 125 SE, which retails for Rs 60,580 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
