Suzuki’s new Hayate bike looks disappointingly identical to the older Slingshot and Zeus, albeit with a new name and refreshed graphics job. It comes powered by a 112.8cc, four-stroke, air-cooled and single-cylinder engine. The Hayate uses a four-speed gearbox.
The Hayate has a single downtube frame with an archaic tubular swing arm that is now rarely seen on Indian motorcycles. Targeted at the commuter segment, the Hayate will be priced over Rs 40,000, and enters showrooms by April 2012.
The Swish 125 scooter is based on the Access platform with sporty, more compact and adventurous styling. Its 124cc, four-stroke, variator driven, single-cylinder engine makes 8.58bhp at 7000rpm, and a max torque of 1kgm at 5000rpm The Swish sports a telescopic front suspension setup, 10 inch front and rear wheels and 120mm drum brakes at the front and back. Targeted at the youth, the Swish 125 is to be priced at Rs 45,431 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes on sale by March 2012.
