Triumph Motorcycles India has announced a safety recall for the Street Triple 765 RS to address a switchgear issue. The issue is said to be a malfunction of the left-hand-side switchgear caused by water seepage, which results in the headlights and turn indicators not working properly. The British motorcycle brand has said that the recall affects approximately 100 units of the RS in India.

The recall first came to light when the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the USA released documents stating that Triumph is recalling the R and RS variants of the Street Triple. The recall affects bikes manufactured between March 19th, 2017 and January 4th, 2018. When we first reported this recall eight days ago, Triumph told us that they would make an official announcement if any bikes from India were affected. And that has been confirmed today.

Triumph will be notifying the owners of affected motorcycles, and the dealers will be replacing the switchgear at no cost to the customer. The replacement time will be less than an hour and Triumph aims to complete the full recall before the start of the monsoon.
