  1. LED lighting to be standard on Classic now
  2. No mechanical changes expected

Royal Enfield Classic 350 update details

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the company’s bestselling model, although in recent years, it has come under threat from not just its rivals but also its brethren. Royal Enfield will be hoping to revitalise its bread-and-butter model with this update. As we reported earlier, it is going to get LED lighting and there will be some other feature updates as well.

Fundamentally, we don’t expect any groundbreaking mechanical changes to the Classic 350, and that’s not a bad thing. The air-cooled, 349cc, single-cylinder motor is rated for 20hp and 27Nm, and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. With its 13-litre tank fully brimmed, it weighs 195kg. Currently, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is priced between Rs 1.93 lakh and Rs 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). With the launch of this updated model, it will be interesting to see whether the company hikes prices in the face of increased competition.

Speaking of competition, we’ve pitted the Classic 350 against the Triumph Speed 400 and Harley-Davidson X440, and to see how it fared against them, tap here.
