It's been three years since Royal Enfield introduced the all-new J-platform version of their most important motorcycle, the Classic 350. The company has now revealed an updated version, which brings in a few more features and multiple new colours. Prices will be revealed on September 1, with bookings and test rides commencing on the same day.

The Classic 350 retains its much-loved classic look with the large mudguards, metal tank and flowing retro lines. However, the company has now thrown in a few modern features, including LED lighting (headlight, tail-light, indicator and pilot lights), adjustable levers, a gear-position indicator and a USB-C charging point.
As with the current Classic 350, a few variants are also available with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, which gives a modern touch to its retro looks. Powering the motorcycle is the same air/oil-cooled, 349cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 20.2hp and 27Nm.
The current Classic 350 is offered in 11 colours across five themes: Chrome, Halcyon, Matte, Signals and Redditch. However, the updated version comes in five new themes: Heritage, Heritage Premium, Signals, Dark and Emerald.
The Classic 350 Hertiage gets Jodhpur Blue and Madras Red options, while the Heritage Premium is available in the Medallion Bronze finish and the Signals series is finished in Commando Sand. As its name suggests, the Dark variant comes in Gun Grey and Stealth Black (a black on black finish) options, and, again, the Emerald lives up to its name. The latter two trims get a supplementary Tripper navigation pod as standard, while the Emerald also omes with adjustable brake levers and LED indicators.
Suspension duty is handled by a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shock absorbers. Braking duties are expected to be handled by a single disc and a drum on the lower variants, while higher variants come with a rear disc and dual-channel ABS.
Prices are expected to rise slightly over the outgoing model; the current Classic 350's price range is Rs 1.93 lakh-2.2 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai).
