TVS has updated its flagship offering, the fully-faired Apache RR310. The sportbike is now priced from Rs 2.75 lakh, an increase of Rs 3,000 from its previous starting price. The variant line-up is now more complex, and a fully-specced RR310 will cost you upwards of Rs 3.25 lakh. This price hike is justified by several new features and updates, many of which have been carried over from the naked Apache RTR 310.

  1. Engine now makes 38hp and 29Nm
  2. Winglets added to bodywork
  3. New features include a suite of electronic rider aids

Across all versions of the new RR310, the engine is now slightly more potent than before, producing 38hp at 9,800rpm and 29Nm at 7,900rpm, up from the previous 34hp and 27.3Nm. This is due to several factors, including a 13 percent larger airbox, a higher compression ratio, a 10 percent lighter forged piston, and a larger diameter throttle body. Some of these changes have been carried over from its naked sibling, the Apache RTR 310.

Similarly, certain features have also been carried over from the RTR. The RR310 now gets cruise control and a bi-directional quick-shifter. However, the base variant, offered only in red and priced at Rs 2.75 lakh, does not include the quick-shifter.

Then there’s RT-DSC, or Race Tuned Dynamic Stability Control — TVS's term for a suite of electronic rider aids. These include cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and cornering cruise control, all facilitated by a new IMU. If you want the RT-DSC system on your Apache RR310, you’ll need to opt for the optional extra Dynamic Pro kit under TVS’ Built To Order customisation program, and it will add Rs 16,000 to the sticker price.

There’s also a second optional kit on offer, called the Dynamic kit. This one costs Rs 18,000, and brings fully-adjustable KYB front and rear suspension, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a brass-coated chain.

Visually, you’ll be able to distinguish this updated RR310 by the winglets on its side fairings – TVS claims they produce up to 3kg of downforce. There’s also a neat-looking transparent clutch cover on this new version. Finally, there is a new bomber grey colour scheme on offer, priced at Rs 2.97 lakh, making it Rs 5,000 more expensive than the red colour option with the quickshifter, which is priced at Rs 2.92 lakh.
