Yamaha has hiked the prices of the FZ-X, FZ 25, FZS 25, MT-15 and R15M bikes in October by Rs 500-1,000. This price hike applies only to these motorcycles and not to the scooters in Yamaha’s Indian line-up.

  • R15M grey colour and World GP edition more expensive by Rs 1,000
  • FZ-X, FZ 25, FZS 25 dearer by Rs 1,000
  • MT-15 range (except MotoGP colorway) costs Rs 500 more

Yamaha October price hike: details

Yamaha has introduced a small price hike on a few models in its Indian portfolio in October. The smallest bike, the FZ-X, costs Rs 1,000 more and is now priced at Rs 1,33,900. The neo-retro FZ-X is one of the rivals to the recently launched Kawasaki W175, and you can see how these two bikes stack up on paper here. The FZ 25 and FZS 25 are now costlier by Rs 1,000 as well, and cost Rs 1,47,900 and Rs 1,52,400, respectively.

The MT-15 receives the smallest price hike of the lot, and costs Rs 500 more now. The base black MT-15 now costs Rs 1,63,900 and the various colourways it is available in are priced at Rs 1,64,900. This hike, however, doesn’t affect the MotoGP colourway, which still sits at the top of the MT-15 range, setting you back by Rs 1,65,900.

The current flagship in Yamaha’s Indian motorcycle line-up, the R15M, also received a price hike of Rs 1,000. However, this hike only applies to the grey colour scheme and the beautiful World GP edition, not the MotoGP replica paint scheme. This hike pushes the price of the R15M (grey) to Rs 1,89,900 and the World GP edition to Rs 1,91,300. Despite this price increment, the MotoGP replica colourway of the R15M remains the most expensive Yamaha bike in India at Rs 1,91,900.

Yamaha recently introduced a range-topping MotoGP colourway for their sporty Aerox 155 maxi-scooter and you can read more about it here. While Yamaha currently doesn’t have any premium bike on sale in India, a commercial on their social media platforms with the R7 supersport bike and the MT-09 naked bike running Indian number plates suggests that they might make a comeback in the premium bike segment soon.
