Yamaha MotoGP fans it’s time to rejoice. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer will launch the YZF-R15 MotoGP edition in India in August. The new R15 Version 3.0 will now come with the blue colour seen on the factory MotoGP bike, along with the Movistar logo on the front and sides and an ENEOS logo on the belly pan. What you won’t see though, are the racing numbers of Yamaha’s MotoGP stars, Valentino Rossi or Maverick Vinales.
The R15 MotoGP edition is already on sale in a few Southeast Asia markets. Apart from the cosmetic updates, no new changes have been made to the R15 V3.0. The motorcycle pictured here, is in international-spec with a USD fork at the front. The India-spec model will remain identical to the current R15 V3.0 sold with a conventional telescopic fork.
The Yamaha R15 V3.0 is priced at Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in two colours currently - Thunder Grey and Racing Blue. It’s likely that that the new Yamaha R15 MotoGP edition will carry a price premium over the standard bike.
We believe that there will be no new product launches from Yamaha this year as the Japanese brand is focusing its attention on upgrading its product range with CBS and ABS.
