The launch of the 2023 models of the Yamaha R15, MT-15 and the FZ-X seem to be right around the corner, with spy shots revealing that the first batches are reaching dealers. All three models will get new colour options.

2023 Yamaha R15, MT-15, FZ-X: what’s new?
Let’s start with the FZ-X, which is expected to receive the most significant update amongst this trio. The 2023 FZ-X has been spied earlier with dual-channel ABS. Additionally, we suspect that there will now be two variants that the FZ-X will be available in.
One could be the standard variant (similiar to the existing FZ-X), and the other might be the scrambler-esque version spied earlier with elements like the new front windscreen, a new colour-matched high-mount front fender and a tubular steel frame around the headlight.
It remains to be seen whether Yamaha equips both variants with dual-channel ABS or not. The standard model, pictured above, gets golden alloy wheels and a new matte blue colour, similar to what’s found on the current YZF-R15 V4. Currently, the Yamaha FZ-X is available in a single variant, priced at Rs 1.34 lakh.
The Yamaha MT-15 and the R15 V4 appear to be mechanically unchanged and seem to only get new colours. The MT-15 can be seen in a new gloss black/red colourway, while the R15 is seen sporting a new matte black/gold colour scheme. Currently the MT-15 is priced between Rs 1.64 lakh-1.66 lakh, while the R15 V4 costs between Rs 1.8 lakh-1.93 lakh.
Apart from the new colours, it is likely that Yamaha will make these bikes OBD-2 compliant, as the deadline to conform to these new norms is March 31, 2023. After this date, bikes that do not meet these norms won't be on sale, which is why it is more than likely that Yamaha is preemptively updating its models. With the advent of the more stringent OBD-2 norms, vehicles will have to adhere to much stricter emission norms. Considering the new colour options on offer and the added OBD-2 compliance, a small increment in the pricing of these bikes seems likely.
