Yamaha has announced the completion of a restructuring exercise for its business in India, restarting Yamaha Motor India Pvt. Ltd as the regional control company for India operations. This company will function as the regional headquarters and corporate control body in India.
Starting August 15th, CEO and MD of India Yamaha Motor, Hiroyuki Suzuki has been appointed as the managing director of Yamaha Motor India, and would also function as the chairman of other group companies in India. These include – India Yamaha Motor (IYM), Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd (YMIS) and Yamaha Motor Research and Development India Pvt. Ltd (YMRI). Deputy managing director of IYM, Takashi Terabayashi will now serve as the new MD of Yamaha Motor India.
From here on, India Yamaha Motor will be responsible for corporate planning and strategy, business planning and expansion, quality control and regional control of the Japanese manufacturer's business in India. IYM will be the manufacturing company under the new organisation structure, while YMIS and YMRI will continue to independently support YMI for sales, marketing and development of its respective products.
Yamaha Motor India along with Yamaha Motor India Sales and Yamaha Motor Research and Development India would function as hundred percent subsidiaries of Yamaha Motor Corporation, while India Yamaha Motor would continue to receive joint investment from YMC and Mitsui & Co.
