Bajaj has dropped a teaser of an exhaust note on their official Instagram handle, and we believe it’s the updated Pulsar RS200. Here’s what we can anticipate from that snippet:
- Pulsar RS200 was launched back in 2015
- Pulsar’s 200cc engine produces 24hp and 19Nm
Bajaj RS200 teaser details
Bajaj posted a reel on the official @mypulsaroffical handle, which had blur visuals with an exhaust revving in the background. The exhaust note was not bassy enough to conclude that it’s the anticipated RS400, and it was raspy and reminiscent of the RS200. In addition, the official Instagram handle also posted an image of the Pulsar RS200 with the caption “We know it’s been long, The memoRieS RETURN” hinting at an update to the Pulsar RS200. The latters ‘R’ and ‘S’ and the word 'RETURN' in upper case confirm that the Pulsar RS200 is set to receive an update.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 was first launched in 2015; the ‘RS’ moniker stands for ‘racing sport’, and 200 is the size of the engine (200cc). The Pulsar RS200 is the faired variant in the Pulsar line-up and shares its engine with the NS200. The tried and tested engine produces 24hp and 19Nm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Pulsar RS200 has always been a solid performer for Bajaj, but there’s no denying the fact that it has started showing its age. While it continues to deliver performance, it lacks some of the modern features that are standard in newer models, making the Pulsar RS200 feel basic in comparison.
It currently comes with a dual halogen projector and a twin-DRL setup. The instrument cluster is a digi-analogue unit, which looks dated and even misses out on Bluetooth connectivity. We expect the Pulsar RS200 to receive a digital dash just like the one that debuted with the Pulsar N150, N160 and the NS200.
The outgoing Pulsar RS200 is priced at Rs 1.74 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and comes in three shades.
