Ducati Diavel 1260 wins Red Dot Design Award 2019

The 2019 Ducati Diavel 1260 has secured a well-known international award for design, called the ‘Red Dot Award: Best of the Best’ in the Product Design category.

The Red Dot Design Award is given to the most worthy entry in terms of design each year since 1955. The judging criteria include, amongst others, the degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, and symbolic and emotional content. For 2019, a jury of 40 members analysed over 5,500 products, from which the Diavel 1260 took home the award. However, this is not the first time Ducati has won this award. The Italian company bagged it in 2013 for the 1199 Panigale and in 2016 for the XDiavel S.

Ducati unveiled Diavel 1260 at the Ducati World Première 2019, a few days before the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The 1260 uses a larger 1,262cc, liquid-cooled, V-Twin motor churning out 159hp at 9,500rpm and 129Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The new power plant also features Desmodromic Variable Timing (DVT).

The Ducati Diavel 1260 is expected to launch in India towards the beginning of the second-half of this year. We expect both variants, the 1260 and the 1260 S, to make it here.
