Ducati has issued a voluntary recall for its Panigale V2 sportbike for an issue with the bike’s LED headlights. The company claims that the necessary information has already been shared with concerned ministries and the clients.

    Ducati Panigale V2 recall: details

The reason for this particular recall is that the bike’s headlights can automatically switch from low beam to just the DRL staying on, in the ‘auto’ headlight mode. This issue will be fixed via a software upgrade done by the concerned dealer, free of charge.

The Panigale V2 replaced the erstwhile 959 Panigale as the mid-spec sportbike from Ducati. The Panigale V2 marked the first time Ducati endowed its smaller sportbike with a single-sided swingarm after the 848 was discontinued. It uses the same 955cc ‘L-Twin’ engine as the bike is replaces but makes slightly higher peak output figures of 155hp and 104 Nm.

At Rs 20.27 lakh, the Ducati Panigale V2 is certainly a pricey proposition and it is more expensive than some more powerful and iconic names from Japan such as the Suzuki Hayabusa (Rs 16.90 lakh) and the Kawasaki ZX-10R (Rs 16.31 lakh)

All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, India.
