KTM will take the covers off the next-gen 390 Adventure at the EICMA, and most of the changes done to it will also trickle down to the 250 Adventure, as this spy shot reveals.

    1. Engine, main frame to be carried over from 250 Duke
    2. Same display, switchgear as KTM-Husqvarna 250s
    3. Test mule seen running on spoked wheels

The next-gen 250 Adventure will use the new design philosophy that we have seen in the spy shots of the upcoming 390 ADV. That means a slim, almost enduro-like design with a typical KTM insect-like headlight. To differentiate the 250 and 390 models, Bajaj will adopt a strategy similar to the one for the Duke models. While the mirror stalks look identical to the ones seen on the Dominar and Pulsar NS400Z, the lenses seem to have a new design, similar to the international, large-capacity KTMs.

The 390 Adventure will use LED daytime running lights, while the 250 will forego them. The 250 Adventure will have the same LCD dash and switchgear as the 250 Duke and Vitpilen 250. This is an interesting strategy of bestowing equipment because now even the 200 Duke gets a TFT dash, but the bigger and newer 250s still make do with a simpler LCD unit.

What is also interesting is that this test mule is seen running on wire-spoke wheels, which means it is shod with tubed tyres. The 250 Adventure has never been offered with spoked wheels in India, even as an option, and it seems like the next-gen model will change that. It remains to be seen if the bike will come standard with it or if the spoked wheels will be an optional extra. Just like the current 250 Adventure, the next-gen model will come with non-adjustable suspension, although the units will likely be new.

When the Gen 3 250 Duke was launched, the bike received a nominal price bump of under Rs 1,000, and it remains to be seen whether Bajaj would follow that competitive strategy for the ADV. Currently, the KTM 250 Adventure is priced at Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). With the new 390s slated to be shown at EICMA early next month, we expect the 250 Adventure to follow suit shortly as well.
