BMW has added a new top-spec trim to its 3-series GT line-up in India, the 330i GT M Sport, priced at Rs 49.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new range-topping trim commands a premium of about Rs 80,000 compared to the petrol Luxury Line variant.

The M Sport variant features sporty cosmetic changes on the outside, including the gloss black-finished grille slats, new 18-inch alloy wheels (tyres sizes are now 225/50 in the front and 255/45 at the rear), M badging and chrome-finished exhaust pipes. The range-topping trim also gets an exclusive metallic Estoril Blue paint finish.

On the inside, the new variant gets a large heads-up display, a 10.5-inch digital instrument cluster, an M Sport multifunction steering wrapped in leather, M badges on the door sill and headliners finished in grey .

In terms of equipment, the 330i GT M Sport gets all the features of the 330i Luxury Line, like BMW’s iDrive with an 8.8-inch display, the navigation system with 3D maps integrated with GPS, BMW Apps, Park Distance Control (PDC) that includes front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera and smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in. The range-topper also adds cruise control with a braking function.

The safety kit on the luxury sedan includes six airbags, ABS with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), side-impact protection, Isofix child seat mounts, run-flat tyres with reinforced sidewalls, an electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensors.

The new variant shares its 1,998cc, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine with the 330i Luxury Line, which makes 252hp and 350Nm of peak torque. The motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels.

The BMW 3-series GT – a more practical take on the standard 3-series thanks to the longer wheelbase, increased cabin and boot space – does not have any direct rivals in India.
