The 2017 Infiniti Q60 sports coupé, successor to the popular G37 coupé, has been seen undisguised near Las Vegas, USA. For some time now, Nissan’s luxury car sub-brand has been bringing out models to rival those from the German trio, namely Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, in international markets.

The Q60’s front fascia features a prominent trapezium grille flanked by LED-infused headlights. The side profile is dominated by a steep sloping roofline and gets vented front fenders, door-mounted ORVMs and also a kink in the shoulder line near the rear quarter glass. At the rear, the coupé gets slender LED tail-lights and a bootlid-integrated rear spoiler along with twin exhaust pipes.

Engine options on the Q60 remain unknown, but the car is likely to be powered by a Mercedes-sourced 333bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 motor that develops a hefty 66kgm of torque. Other probable engine options include a Mercedes-Benz sourced turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine expected to make 208bhp and 35.66kgm of torque. A hybrid variant powered by a 3.5-litre V6 and a range-topping 408bhp version of the coupé with a twin-turbo 4.7-litre V8 engine are also likely.

The Q60 coupé is expected to make its debut at the North American International auto show in January, and will go on sale in the US in the second quarter of 2016.
