Isuzu has launched a facelift for its D-Max V-Cross lifestyle pick-up truck at Rs 14.27 lakh, due to launch in 2018. Unlike the outgoing V-Cross (priced at Rs 14.28 lakh), the refreshed model is available in two variants – V-Cross and V-Cross High – priced at Rs 14.27 lakh and Rs 15.77 lakh, respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Chennai). Dealers started accepting bookings for the lifestyle pick-up earlier, this month.
The D-Max facelift gets exterior tweaks, interior changes and more kits than the model to be replaced. While the front is similar, the side step is a new addition – as is the tweaked tailgate with a chrome handle. The higher-spec V-Cross High trim also gets chrome detailing on the rear bumper, LED daytime-running lights and LED tail-lamps. A new Ruby Red exterior finish has also been introduced, which will be available alongside the previously offered Orchid Brown, Cosmic Black, Titanium Silver, Obsidian Grey and Splash White colours.
On the inside, the standard D-Max V-Cross gets a new touchscreen audio system that doubles as the reversing camera. The High trim also adds a six-way electrically adjustable driver seat, black leather seats and a multi-functional steering wheel that comes with cruise control. The safety kit also sees the addition of electronic stability control and traction control.
Under the bonnet, the lifestyle pick-up truck retains the 2.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that produces 136hp at 3,600rpm and 320Nm of peak torque at 1,800-2,800rpm. This motor is mated to a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
In a niche of its own with no direct rivals, the D-Max V-Cross is Isuzu’s most popular passenger vehicle, outselling its MU-X sibling.
