Hyundai India flagged off the 2022 edition of the Great India Drive from the city of Srinagar. In its sixth edition now, the drive will start from the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir and travel to seventeen locations across the state in a fleet of Hyundai Tucson SUVs.

Some notable destinations in this year’s itinerary include Sonamarg, Zojila Pass and Kargil in Ladakh. The Great India Drive for 2022 has been designed around the theme of achieving unconquered and challenging terrain.

Coming to the Hyundai Tucson, the brand's premium SUV is powered by a 156hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 186hp, 2,0-litre diesel engine. The petrol motor is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox while the diesel is paired to an eight-speed auto. There’s no manual on offer and AWD is offered only in the top-spec diesel variant.

In terms of equipment, the higher variants of the Tucson are packed to the gill with features like dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, ambient lighting and Bose sound system. It is also the first Hyundai in India to get Level-2 ADAS tech.

The Tucson is priced from Rs 27.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and takes on the likes of the Citroen C5 and Volkswagen Tiguan.
