Fiat has launched the Abarth Punto Evo and the Avventura powered by Abarth in India. Both models are priced at Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
While the changes on the outside aren't many, both models get a major upgrade under the hood in the form of a 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine tuned to produce 145hp in the Abarth Punto Evo and 140bhp in the Avventura. Power is sent to the front wheels via a five-speed transmission. The underpinnings are now shorter with stiffer springs, resulting in a 20mm drop in ride height for the Abarth Punto Evo.
Prominent changes on the Abarth Punto Evo's exteriors include 16-inch Scorpion alloy wheels, disc brakes on all four wheels, graphics on the sides, and not to forget, the Abarth logos, which replace the Fiat ones on the standard car. Interiors get new seat fabrics with red and yellow stitching, sporty steel foot pedals, and the Abarth logo on the steering wheel. The car is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS and EBD.
The Avventura gets interior upgrades similar to the Abarth Punto Evo, and similar alloy wheels are seen on its exterior. However, it only comes with a simple badging to differentiate it form the normal Avventura.
