Audi has introduced a facelift for the e-tron GT, giving it some styling tweaks and technical updates. This brings it in line with its cousin, the Porsche Taycan, which was updated earlier this year.

  1. New range-topping RS e-tron GT Performance makes 925hp
  2. Gets minor styling tweaks, improved charging speed

Audi e-tron GT facelift: what’s new?

Audi has improved the cell chemistry and resized the cooling system, which has increased the battery capacity from 84kWh to 97kWh, while reducing the weight by 9kg and offering a claimed range of 609km. This has also allowed the maximum charging speed to increase to 320kW from 270kW. Audi says that the new e-tron GT is able to maintain a charging speed of over 280kW for much longer than before and in a wider range of temperatures.

The carmaker has also rejigged the e-tron GT’s model line-up. The entry-level dual-motor version, now with 680hp, is called S e-tron GT. The RS e-tron GT has been bumped to 857hp and a new RS e-tron GT Performance tops the range with a huge 925hp, which makes it the most powerful production Audi car yet. The RS e-tron GT Performance can sprint from 0-100kph in just 2.5 seconds.

In a bid to differentiate the standard e-tron GT from the RS variants, the S e-tron GT now gets silver triangular inserts in the front air dam. The RS models get more aggressive L-shaped inserts, which can be optioned with a new ‘camouflage’ carbon fibre on the Performance model as a part of the carbon pack. Further visual alterations include an embossed hexagon pattern for the front mask and a redesigned diffuser with a central reflector on the RS models.

On the inside, the e-tron GT facelift gets a new steering wheel with a flat bottom and top, featuring touch-sensitive buttons. It also gets 14-way adjustable sports seats and air suspension as standard, the latter being similar to the Porsche Taycan.

Audi e-tron GT facelift: India launch timeline

Audi currently sells the outgoing e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT in India at Rs 1.72 crore and Rs 1.95 crore (ex-showroom), respectively. Following its launch in Europe, the new e-tron GT could make its way here by the end of this year or early 2025, and can be expected with a price hike. It will continue to rival the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes EQS.
