At Auto Expo 2020, MG Motor India unveiled its 360M MPV. This 7-seater is being evaluated for an India launch. If it does arrive, it’ll likely rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga here and sit below the Toyota Innova Crysta as well as the recently launched Kia Carnival.

In terms of design, the 360M carries a very distinctly MPV design with some familiar MG elements like a honeycomb MG grille, with a chrome lining and the pinched third-quarter glass. While the MG 360M is slightly longer than the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, it is about as wide. Expect cabin room in the 7-seater to be at par with the Maruti. MG has not revealed its feature list but in keeping with its other offerings we can expect a well-kitted-out interior.

The MG 360M showcased at Auto Expo 2020 is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Interestingly, this engine is already found under the bonnet of the MG Hector. In the SUV, it makes 143hp and 250Nm of peak torque, is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, and comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system as an option. If the MPV is brought to India, the FCA-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine from the Hector could also be on offer.

For now MG is still evaluating the MG 360M MPV for a launch in India.

Do you think the MG 360M will be a proper Maruti Suzuki Ertiga rival? Let us know in the comments below.
