BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe bookings have opened, ahead of the model’s India launch on October 15. The four-door coupe can be booked exclusively through the manufacturer’s website and will be offered in two trim levels to choose from.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe booking details
BMW India has opened bookings for the new 2 Series Gran Coupe from today, October 6. The sedan can be exclusively booked online with the amount set at Rs. 50,000. Customers who book the car before the price announcement takes place at 12 noon on October 15, will get an early-bird benefit that includes a complimentary Taj Experiences Gift Card worth Rs. 50,000. The gift card can be redeemed for multiple transactions on stay, holiday packages, dining, spa and other experiences across most Taj properties in India.
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe trim details
BMW India has also released information on the trim levels of the new sedan. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be available in two trim levels – Sportline and M Sport. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Sportline trim gets 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, ‘Illuminated Berlin’ interior trim and the choice between five exterior paint shades.
The M Sport trim, meanwhile, gets 18-inch alloys, ‘Illuminated Boston’ interior trim and the choice of six exterior colours. As is the case with all M Sport models, the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Sport gets a number of M-specific tweaks inside and out. Outside, it features an M Sport body kit with sportier bumpers and side aprons, ‘M’ badges on the front fenders, a chrome embellished front grille and gloss black trim around the windows. Inside, it gets an M Sport steering wheel and sporty aluminium pedals.
Both, the Sportline and M Sport, feature digital dials and the option to choose between an all-black or a dual-tone beige-and-black interior scheme.
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe engine and gearbox
At launch, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be powered by a 190hp, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and the model will be called the BMW 220d Gran Coupe. The petrol-powered 220i Gran Coupe is also expected to join the line-up a little later, with a 192hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. An 8-speed automatic gearbox will be standard fit.
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe rivals and expected price
The new 2 Series Gran Coupe will be positioned beneath the 3 Series in BMW’s line-up. In terms of rivals, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will compete with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz A-class sedan and the Audi A3 sedan in India. Expect BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe prices to start at Rs. 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
