BMW India is set to increase prices of their vehicles by up to 4 percent. The price hike will be across its product portfolio in India and will come into effect from January 1, 2019.
Speaking about the price hike, Vikram Pawah, Chairman, BMW Group India said, “BMW India will continue to present an extremely attractive value to its customers through pioneering products, best-in-class service experience and comprehensive financial solutions and offers from BMW India Financial Services.”
Carmakers usually hike prices at the start of the year due to various factors such as rising input costs, exchange rate fluctuation and increasing commodity prices. Other carmakers are also likely to follow suit and announce a price increase in the near term.
BMW recently introduced the performance-focused M2 Competition in India for a price of Rs 79.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). In 2019, BMW will launch the all-new 3-series sedan and the X5 SUV in our market.
During the Jan-Sep 2018 period, BMW India sold 7,915 units (including Mini sales) resulting in an 11 percent growth from last year.
