It’s been four year since Chevrolet launched the Beat in India and the time has come for a facelift to keep the chic hatchback looking fresh. Right on cue, Chevrolet will launch the facelifted Beat at the upcoming Auto Expo. The makeover includes new bumpers, reprofiled lights and new mirrors. There will be minor improvements to the cabin and it is likely Chevrolet will introduce new variants too. Of interest to football fans, there will be another Beat finished in the Manchester United football club’s colours. Chevrolet is a global sponsor of the English Premier League team and would like to leverage this association among football fans.
Also headed to the Auto Expo is the Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV. It’s attractive, has got enormous presence and it’s a genuine seven-seater, all of which make it ideal for India. Chevrolet has seriously considered bringing the Trailblazer here but it can’t seem to work around the big SUV’s size – it simply doesn’t fit in the GM factory's paint booth. So, don’t expect it to be launched any time soon.
Supercar fans will also get a chance to see the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 in the flesh. It’s got a 6.2-litre V8 and a seven-speed manual gearbox, so it’s a proper brute. Also, at the Chevrolet stand will be the very desirable Chevrolet Camaro sportscar. Low, long and loud, it deserves a spot in your list of must-see cars at the Auto Expo 2014.
