Citroen India has announced that bookings for its upcoming C3 Aircross will open at its outlets from September 15 onwards. The price announcement for the C3 Aircross is slated to take place sometime next month.
Citroen C3 Aircross powertrain, features
The C3 Aircross will get just one powertrain – a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Like the standard C3, the C3 Aircross will also miss out on an automatic gearbox, which is a glaring omission, though we have been told that the C3 Aircross will get that option at a later stage. The fully loaded C3 Aircross Max trim gets five- and seven-seat options, which gives it an edge over its rivals in the midsize SUV segment.
Citroen C3 Aircross rivals, price positioning
The C3 Aircross will take on a huge battalion of midsize SUVs in India, including the Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, the popular Hyundai Creta, and the Kia Seltos.
Citroen India had earlier confirmed to us that pricing for the C3 Aircross will be “in the middle of the segment.” However, apart from its two seating layouts, it does not have many features to add to its appeal. The C3 Aircross will not get creature comforts like ventilated seats, wireless charging, a sunroof, or even automatic climate control. None of the variants on offer will come with a powered driver’s seat or LED headlamps, either. Even on the safety front, it gets only two airbags, and not six, something that is offered on all its rivals.
