EXCLUSIVE!
There’s no doubt that the Datsun Go is one of the most anticipated entrants in the entry-level hatchback segment. But, since it’s a budget segment offering, it will be quite sparsely equipped. However, by paying extra, you can choose from a longer list of accessories. These company approved accessories will be fitted by the authorised Datsun outlet and won’t void the car’s warranty.
We managed to get hold of a list of accessories that will be offered officially on the Datsun Go, along with their prices. The Datsun Go’s accessories list includes popular options like sporty body graphics, side body mouldings, roof rails, chrome door handles, remote locking, a reverse camera, audio system and leather seat covers.
So, what about its rivals, the Maruti Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon, when it comes to optional accessories? We spoke to a few dealers to get a clearer idea.
Datsun has priced its accessories competitively, similar to the pricing of optional features on the Maruti Alto K10. It's the Hyundai Eon that is the most expensive among these to kit out additionally.
Opting for leather seats on the Datsun Go costs Rs 4,800, while on the Alto K10, it costs Rs 4,000. But the Hyundai-approved leather seats for the Eon cost Rs 5,000. Similarly, the Eon’s roof spoiler retails for an expensive Rs 6,000, while you can get one on the Alto K10 for Rs 3,200 and on the Datsun Go for Rs 2,998.
The optional reversing camera on the Datsun Go costs Rs 7,920 while on the Maruti Alto K10, it retails for Rs 10,000. But on the Hyundai Eon, again, it's a pricier Rs 12,000.
The Go offers the least expensive audio system with radio, CD, USB and aux-in compatibility for Rs 7,986 while the Alto K10 offers a similar audio system from a starting price of Rs 8,000. The Hyundai Eon’s optional audio system starts from Rs 11,000. Also, the Datsun Go is the only car in its segment that offers a glowing logo for Rs 1,430.
The prices of the accessories vary from dealer to dealer and you can get a decent discount based on your ability to haggle.
