More details have emerged regarding the launch of ‘Mopar’ in India, the international ‘service wing’ of FCA. Earlier, We had reported the brand’s imminent arrival in the country in a bid to transform the ownership experience of Jeep and Fiat owners and to provide them with an extensive range of services. The move is considered central to FCA’s strategy of improving its brand image and expanding its foothold in India, one of the fastest growing automobile markets in the world.
It’s a matter of little surprise that the brand’s India entry coincides with the launch of Jeep Compass, a move that will surely delight the soon-to-be Jeep buyers.
The brand functions as FCA’s aftersales service and customer care division across the globe and provides genuine accessories and spare parts for cars sold under the various FCA brands. While it will initially focus only on aftersales service, towards the end of the year FCA is set to expand the brand by bringing in its vast performance parts division, though the focus will be on Jeep alone.
FCA has announced that in the first phase it plans to open 48 authorised Mopar workshops across the country. Existing Fiat and Jeep service outlets are also likely to be rebranded. The customers can avail various maintenance plans, accessories and merchandise, along with specialised packages for tyres and batteries. While three-year/1,00,000km warranty will be offered as standard on Compass, one can also opt for various extended-warranty plans.
Besides lining up a series of services such as ‘Mopar Assure’ for insurance solutions, ‘Mopar Care’ for 24x7 customer assistance and ‘Mopar Express Lane Service’, the brand will also provide complimentary RSA coverage for three years to new customers.
The announcement was made on the occasion of the launch of the made-in-India Jeep Compass SUV which has been priced at an aggressive Rs 14.95 lakh for the petrol model and Rs 15.45 lakh for the diesel.
