Joining the ranks of Honda, Tata, Hyundai, BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz, now Jeeps can be bought online via FCA India’s new digital retail platform. In a similar vein to the other carmaker’s platforms, prospective buyers can now book and buy the Jeep Compass, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SRT without having to visit a Jeep showroom. Even test drives and deliveries will take place at the customer’s doorstep.
The Book My Jeep module on Jeep India’s website helps the prospective customer through the initial process of choosing the model, variant, engine and gearbox option, colour and other details such as location of the customer and documentation. Only after this can a booking amount be paid for through a credit card, internet banking or the other available online payment options.
The customer will then be contacted by a sales representative (via phone or video call) to help set up a test drive in a fully sanitised vehicle at the buyer’s doorstep. Then the final payment can be made on the Book My Jeep online retail platform. Following this, the new Jeep will be delivered to the buyer’s doorstep with all the due cleaning and sanitisation processes. Jeep is also offering special benefits for customers who choose to book their SUV online.
Commenting on the new retail strategy, Dr. Partha Datta – President and Managing Director, FCA India said, “Our commitment is to ensure customers can still continue to access Jeep at their fingertips. To ensure health, safety and convenience, we are making the Jeep retail experience as touch-free as possible. We are already live with ‘Book My Jeep’, which is being dovetailed into a 360-degree digital retail architecture that will deliver an intelligent, easy-to-use and fascinating experience for customers. Prospects will be able to book and own a Jeep, from their screens, without leaving the safety of their homes.”
